INBOUND16 Keynote by Dharmesh and Brian: Session Recap - Niswey

Written by Nilanjana Dey | Nov 10, 2016 12:14:04 PM

This was the 10-year anniversary of HubSpot and the inbound movement. So of course, the INBOUND16 keynote by founders Dharmesh Shah and Brian Halligan would be phenomenal.

(I mean, when is it not?).

The excitement levels were sky high. Exhibit A:

The founders wanted the keynote to be flawless, and definitely put in the hours.

I'm really excited for #inbound16. Been working hard on the keynote. https://t.co/4KPs3HD1bR

This year, Brian kicked off the keynote with a look at how the ‘customer’ has changed over the years, and how marketing has changed with it. As always, it was peppered with humor and witty personal anecdotes.

Most importantly, he called time-of-death on the cold call.

And then it was time for Dharmesh Shah to take the stage. While Brian had focused on the social changes, Dharmesh took us through the technological changes over the last few decades. He decoded the unique technological graphs that make up three of the biggest companies today, and how all that data interacts in several meaningful ways. And his key message was HEO: Human Enjoyment Optimization, and how that lets you build better SEO.
